Enjoy a canteen experience in North Platte PDF Print E-mail

The North Platte Community Playhouse will present the “Canteen Spirit Experience,” in conjunction with the Original Town Association and Rail Fest 2013 in North Platte.
During the “Canteen Spirit Experience,” patrons will be treated to a viewing of the “Canteen Spirit” film, a panel discussion with former North Platte Canteen volunteers and soldiers, vendors and an authentic canteen meal, all taking place in the historic North Platte Community Playhouse at the Neville Center for the Performing Arts.
The “Canteen Spirit” film produced by NET is an acclaimed account of the wonderful citizens who rallied to support the country’s men in uniform.
Audiences will have the opportunity to learn firsthand from former Canteen volunteers and soldiers about the life-changing experiences they had during this time. Audiences will have the opportunity to engage in a question and answer  session with these wonderful people. A canteen authentic meal will be served after each performance.
The “Canteen Spirit Experience” will have showings on Sunday Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. CT. Tickets will be sold at the door.
