Wallace Fall Festival and alumni weekend Sept. 21-22 PDF Print E-mail

From sunup to sundown, the town of Wallace will be abuzz when the community comes together for the annual Wallace Fall Festival.
Adding to the two-day event Sept. 21-22 is its designation as alumni weekend.
Mark the calendar and plan to attend the annual Wallace FallFestival with the theme, “Our Town and Proud of It!”
Following is an outline of what to expect. Come join the fun.
Saturday, Sept. 21
7-9 a.m.: biscuits and gravy by the Wallace Fire Department at the Wallace Hotel. Free will donation.
7:30 a.m.: Fun run/walk sponsored by the American Legion. Register by calling 387-4327.
9:30 a.m.: Kids Parade—line up at fire hall.
10 a.m.: Parade on main street; line up at airport 9 a.m.
Following parade: kids races, obstacle course, buggy rides, auction.
11:30 a.m.: Barbecue at the community hall. Free will donation.
1-4 p.m. Activities for kids in the park—Fun Jumpz, face painting, games.
1 p.m.: Greased pig contest south of park.
1 p.m.: Rodeo in roping arena (963-4487); 2-man sorting east of Mac’s Super Foods. Call 539-3260 to sign up.
1 p.m.: Dodgeball, volleyball, bingo.
1 p.m.: Sporting clay shoot south of park.
2 p.m. Watermelon feed at Mac’s Super Foods.
3 p.m.: Frisbee golf at park.
3:15 p.m. Cookie wars at community hall for middle school/high school students and adults. Call 386-6270 to sign up.
5-7 p.m.: Chili cookoff at Legion hall by Wallace Community Church. $5 adults, $2 children 4-10; cake by Robin Hager.
6 p.m.: Derby south of park. Sign up at 4 p.m. Contact: Dick Hasenauer 530-7333. Food available.
9 p.m.: Street dance featuring deejay Mike Garrison.
Other activities throughout the day include the presentation of the Old Scout and Good Neighbor awards at the parade; a craft show and bake sale at the American Legion; and a quilt show, “Patchwork of the Prairie” at 2 p.m. sponsored by Lions Club.
During the day, an ice cream coach will be parked in front of Farmers State Bank.
A beer garden will be available from 1 p.m. until 1 a.m.  
Sunday, Sept. 22
5 p.m.: Community-wide potluck in park. Bring a covered dish.
6 p.m.: Concert in the park. Whitebird Ministries, Inc. featuring Peter Lewis Whitebird. Free will donation.
