Fly-in a huge success

Wow! Our airport open house/fly-in was a huge success and I want to thank everyone who was involved.
We had well over 300 people in attendance and 39 aircraft. Our six EAA pilots flew 52 Young Eagles–a record for our program!
We had three spray planes on display–one of which performed a water drop to the delight of the crowd.
Dr. Kimball from Sterling flew in with his T-28 and wowed everyone with a fly-by.
The food was great. We served approximately 270 people for lunch.
Next time we need to order a lot more donuts!
There were many different kinds of planes for people to look at and lots of great stories being told. Some of us were even lucky enough to get a flight – thanks!
Overall it was a great day!
If I could have changed one thing it would have been the weather.
It was cooler and windier than we had hoped so we did not open the big hangar doors. That also prevented us from using the sound system to announce what was happening. Thanks for putting up with us!
And, I can’t say it enough, thanks again to my airport board! Without all of your hard work the day of, and lots of days before and after, the event would not have been such a success.
I can’t wait to do it again!
