FCCLA collecting for food pantry Monday PDF Print E-mail

FCCLA  (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) is focusing on local hunger issues and asks the community to support the local Perkins County Food Pantry with the annual FCCLA Food Pantry Drive on Monday, Oct. 28.
Perkins County High FCCLA members will be canvassing the local community for food pantry items. They will be out collecting from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m.  Please leave a porch light on if there is a donation for them to pick up. If a home is missed, please call 352-4735 to have items picked up or take the items to the Perkins County High School office.
As quoted from the NO KID HUNGRY WEBSITE:
“More than 16 million kids in America struggle with hunger. That child who doesn’t have enough to eat isn’t going to do as well in school. And is likely to get sick more often. He/she is less likely to graduate from high school and go on to college, which will have a negative impact on an economic future. If this happens, then 20 years from now, he/she is much less likely to be able to earn enough to feed his/her family.”
