2014 acreage reporting deadline Nov. 15
By Teri Moss, County Executive Director
927 Central Ave., Grant NE
The deadline to report 2013 fall seeded crops and perennial forage is Nov. 15. We ask that all producers who have an interest in winter wheat, alfalfa, oats, grass for hay or grass for grazing report by then.
We will need the following to file your report: Planting date, intended use, acres, practice and who shares in the production of that crop.
Producers who file accurate and timely reports for all crops and land uses, including failed acreage can prevent the potential loss of FSA program benefits. Please pay close attention to the acreage reporting dates below. In order to comply with FSA program eligibility requirements, producers are encouraged to visit the Perkins County FSA office to file an accurate crop certification report by the deadline.
Please contact our office for an appointment at (308) 352-4747 Ext 2. The following acreage reporting dates are applicable for Perkins County:
• Nov. 15, 2013: Fall seeded small grains and perennial forage crops.
• July 15, 2014: All spring seeded crops, plus CRP and all other crops not listed for the Nov. 15 deadline.
Filing a Notice of Loss
A Notice of Loss is used to report failed acreage and prevented planting and may be completed by any producer with an interest in the crop.
Timely filing a Notice of Loss is required for all crops including grasses. For losses on crops covered by the Non-Insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) and crop insurance, you must file a Notice of Loss in the FSA County Office within 15 days of the occurrence of the disaster or when losses become apparent.
If filing for prevented planting, an acreage report and CCC-576 must be filed within 15 calendar days of the final planting date for the crop.
