On Thursday, Oct. 24, a one vehicle accident resulted in minor injuries to the driver of a grain truck.
At approximately 12:45 p.m. the accident occurred on Road 337 near Madrid. At 1 p.m. the Perkins County Sheriff’s office received the call and responded to the scene.
A grain truck driven by Dennis Schreiber, 38, of Madrid, was southbound on Road 337 when he came too close to the shoulder of the road, according to sheriff’s reports.
The trailer of grain being hauled by the truck went into the west ditch and after 100 yards impacted with a field entrance.
The vehicle fell to its right side, spilling most of the contents of its load.
Schreiber was the only person in the vehicle and sheriff’s office officials noted he was not wearing a restraint. Schreiber was transported via private vehicle to Perkins County Health Services where sheriff’s reports indicated he suffered from possible, but not visible shoulder and upper arm injuries.
The accident resulted in $80,000 in damages and loss.
