Christmas cards for troops can be dropped at Tribune PDF Print E-mail

Perkins County residents are invited to take part in the Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes program.

The Grant Tribune-Sentinel will help make it easy—just drop off cards and the mailing process will be taken care of.        Certain guidelines must be followed to ensure the cards reach their destination—the drop off deadline is Monday, Nov 25.
Those who choose may leave cards any time between now and then; a suggested convenience being during Chamber’s Christmas open house event next week.
This program gives Americans the opportunity to send holiday greetings and thanks to service members, veterans and their families around the world.
Follow These Guidelines
• All cards must be signed.
• Use generic salutations such as “To American Hero.” Cards addressed to specific individuals cannot be delivered through this program.
• Only cards are being accepted. Do not send or include letters.
• Do not include e-mail or home addresses on the cards: the program is not meant to foster pen pal relationships.
• Do not include inserts of any kind, including photos: these items will be removed during the reviewing process.
• Please refrain from choosing cards with glitter or using loose glitter as it can aggravate health issues of ill and injured warriors.
• Each card does not need its own envelope, as envelopes will be removed from all cards before distribution.
Thank you for taking part in this program to support the men and women defending our nation during the holiday season and every day of the year.
