The Wildcats put together four complete quarters last week as they defeated the Maxwell Wildcats, 75-51, for their third victory in the young season.
Maxwell was the first to strike when they took the opening tip right to the basket for a quick two points.
Wallace got their first bucket shortly after when John Marquardt got a steal and passed the ball down court to a wide open Shane Anders. As the two teams settled into their game, the pace picked up and so did the scoring.
Anders and Landon Swedberg went long range and dropped in a couple three-pointers and then Collin Swedberg turned two trips to the charity stripe into four points. Wallace used great passing to the inside, to put points on the board as well. Hayden Woodcox put up four points and Marquardt added two.
Wallace had a 17-10 lead at the end of the first period.
Anders came out and took charge of the second quarter by putting up the first seven points for Wallace and then Landon Swedberg took over and put up 10 points.
Woodcox tacked on three free throws and Andrew Gardner got a put back to propel the Big Blue to a 39 -25 halftime lead.
Wallace did not cool down during the halftime break as they came out to dominate the third quarter. Maxwell was held to just six points while Wallace put 19 more points on the board. Woodcox and Landon each put up seven points, Anders had a three-pointer and Gardner added two points.
Maxwell saved their best for last as they outscored Wallace by three points in the final period but Wallace was still putting points on the board. Collin Swedberg started things off with a jump shot and then Landon Swedberg hit a three-pointer followed a basket underneath which was made possible by a Tanner Clough assist. Andrew Gardner added a short jump shot and then Landon Swedberg found Clough under the basket following a steal.
As the game was winding down, Collin Swedberg hit a corner shot and Landon Swedberg added another jumper and a couple of free throws
