Area students make lists

Mid-Plains Community College released the names of students named to the Dean’s list and the President’s List for the fall 2013 term. Steve Maaliao qualified for the President’s List and Ashley Kautz qualified for the Dean’s List. Both students are from Grant.
Students who maintain an overall 3.9 or greater grade point average qualify for the President’s List and those who maintain an overall 3.5-3.89 grade point average qualify for the Dean’s List.

Students honored at Chadron

Krystal Gaar of Grant qualified for the fall 2013 President’s List at Chadron State College. Ethan Behrends, Taylor Boldt and Zachary White, all of Grant, qualified for the 2013 Dean’s List. The President’s List requires a grade-point average of 4.0 and the Dean’s List requires at least a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Turner earns BA degree

Brent Turner of Grant graduated from Chadron State College with a Bachelor of Arts during winter commencement exercises Friday, Dec. 13.
A total of 217 degrees were conferred during the institution’s two winter graduation ceremonies.

UNK winter graduation held

More than 400 graduate and undergraduate degrees were conferred at the University of Nebraska at Kearney winter commencement exercises Friday, Dec. 20, at the Health and Sports Center. In all, there were 411 candidates for degrees–313 undergraduate and 98 graduate degrees.
Students from Grant include  Evan Barkley, Bachelor of Arts in international studies, political science; Brittany Pofahl, Bachelor of Arts in elementary education, mild moderate K-6, Honorable Mention; Arielle Roberts, Bachelor of Arts in English, speech communication, Honorable Mention.
Wallace student Sandra Pohl received a Master of Arts in Education, school principalship PK-8.
