Big Springs seniors organize prom dress donation project PDF Print E-mail

As years have passed, the cost of prom dresses has increased. Girls spend hundreds of dollars for dresses that are generally worn once or twice, then shoved to the back of the closet to collect dust.
South Platte High School seniors Lindsey Kotschwar, Addie Dickmander and Jordyn Bartels want every young lady to have that special dress with their program “Dresses for Change.”
Their mission is to collect near new, clean prom and special occasion dresses, formal shoes and accessories to distribute to girls in the area. They will be collecting attire until the end of January.
On Feb. 1, they will be offering the dresses and accessories to any lady in need at South Platte High School from 9-11 a.m. Leftover goods will be donated to the Bridge of Hope Child Advocacy Center in North Platte.
People are encouraged to donate their old prom/special occasion dresses and other prom accessories to the high school in Big Springs, or contact Jordyn at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or Lindsey at 308-889-3430 to request a dress pick up. Please leave a message if there is no answer.
The organizers request that if needed, the dresses be cleaned prior to donation.
