Second annual coyote hunt held PDF Print E-mail

The second Annual Coyote Hunt was held on Saturday, February 1, 2014.
Forty three, two man teams participated bringing in a total of 26 coyotes.  Travis Messersmith was in charge of organizing the hunt.

The teams had a one month to sign up before the hunt.  Each two man team contributed $50 to participate in the hunt.  First place brought in six coyotes which netted the team $500.  Second and Third place teams each brought in three coyotes.

The determining factor was who checked in first.
The second place team was awarded $300 and the third place team received $200. Fourth place received $100.

After the hunt the teams enjoyed a meal of smoked BBQ pork loin, cowboy beans, chips and brownies which was prepared by Timmarie Messersmith, Travis’ wife and assistant in organizing the event.
There was also a gun raffle.  Terry Brott was the winner.  There were also other door prizes given away.
Travis and Timmarie would like to thank everyone that helped and all the donated items to make the event memorable.

The money garnered by the hunt was donated to the Wallace Volunteer Fire Dept.  This year the hunt was able to contribute $1,525 to the department.

Last year the hunt included 21 hunting teams and was able to donate $500 to the Wallace Youth Club.
Travis is  excited to announce that the third Annual Coyote Hunt is scheduled for Jan. 31, 2015.  He is looking forward to more teams joining in the fun of the day long event and being able to contribute even more to the Wallace Volunteer Fire Department.
