Swedberg leads Wildcats PDF Print E-mail

Landon Swedberg finished his senior year with an impressive showing for Wallace at the Class D state track and field invite in Omaha on May 23-24.
Swedberg finished in fifth place, earning a medal, in the discus with a toss of 139’ 4”.
Jacob Bartling of Elm Creek won the Class D title with a throw of 173’.
In the 400 meter dash Swedberg finished fourth in his heat, just missing qualifying. Swedberg had a time of :53.04 and the heat was won by Brady Stuhmer of Alma (:50.49).
The 3200 meter relay team was 12th with a time of 8:47.26.
Team members were Dillon Koop, Swedberg, Robbie Nelson and Tanner Clough.
North Central won the Class D title with a time of 8:22.64.
Clough, a sophomore, was in three events at the state track invite, also competing in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. In the 1600 meters Clough was 16th with a time of 4:55.97. In the 3200 meters Clough placed 13th with a time of 10:52.02.
The 1600 meters was won by senior Kyle Pierce of South Loup with a time of 4:33.01 and the 3200 meter race was won by Lane Tibbs of Kenesaw (9:58.56).
The lone female competitor for Wallace, Maggie May, finished in eighth place in her heat in the 400 meters with a time of 1:03.82. Her heat was won by Madison Nygren of Mead with a time of 1:00.19.
