On April 13, 2006 Amy and Kasey Kroeker purchased B&J’s convenience store from Bud and Jean McCullough and started down a path that Amy has said has been, ‘A huge blessing.’
“It gave me the opportunity to run a business the way I would like to run it,” Amy Kroeker said, explaining she had previously worked in a corporate setting and found it was not for her.
The couple kept the store the same, selling gas, snacks and all the convenience store favorites customers had come to love. However, Amy explains that they began to listen to customer wants and began implementing more new items.
Hot food items such as pizza, sub sandwiches and others were added. A flat top grill was been added to give food a fresher taste.
Plans are to add some different healthier food options in the near future.
A new cooler will be added and the store will be re-arranged a bit to accommodate for better service and more food options. The new products will be implemented in the next few months.
“Customers have helped us expand our products with suggestions,” Kroeker said, always willing to listen to ideas or wants of the customers.
There are 13 staff members at In & Out with six full-time employees.
“Our philosophy is the employees take care of the customers and I take care of the behind the scenes details,” Kroeker said of her management style.
The business will still be clean with friendly employees and quality products, something that will never change at In & Out.
“Whoever comes in the door, we want to keep happy. We want repeat business. We want to make a great experience for everyone,” Kroeker said.
