PCCFF donates to garden PDF Print E-mail

The community garden toward the north end of Grant is in its second season, with this year’s monetary support coming from the Perkins County Community Foundation Fund. Collaborating on the garden are the USDA/FSA Office and the Grant United Methodist Church. In addition to community participants, the daycare children at the hospital’s Hugs-N-Teddybears facility across the street plant and care for their own garden plots. Pastor Nora Mendyk (center) accepts a check from PCCFF chairman Michelle Ross along with foundation representative Val Foster at far right. Teri Moss (left) of the USDA and Shari Anderson, daycare director, attend the check presentation of $1,500 which was used to purchase the plants which community patrons have put in place with hopes of an abundant harvest.
