Hanson is intern for Tribune-Sentinel PDF Print E-mail

There’s a new intern in town! The new intern at the Grant  Tribune-Sentinel is Kylie Hanson, daughter of Scott and Jill  Hanson.
She began Wednesday, May 28 and plans to work throughout the summer.
Kylie graduated this last  spring from Perkins County High School.
She plans to attend Chadron State College where she is also a cheerleader.
There, she will major in journalism and minor in graphic design.
In other words, this internship will make it or break it for her future plans.
“I’m very excited and ready for this opportunity,” said Hanson. “I think it will definitely help me understand and take interest into the broad spectrum of writing and designing altogether.”
While in high school, she was in volleyball, track, speech, FCCLA, cheerleading, spring plays, and many other activities.
“Staying busy in high school is very important not only for your social skills, but also for your work habits,” she explained.
Kylie was also a Girls and Boys State nominee where she was the vice president of the federalist party and the deputy director of the public service commission.
When she was asked what she will miss in high school, she said, “I will definitely miss Ms. Tate and her constant ways to make everyone laugh. Mrs. Putnam will be missed for overdramatizing ‘The Great Gatsby’ and ‘The Grapes of Wrath.’ Mr. Summers was also an entertainment during the current events game.”
Hanson’s favorite pastime is reading books by her favorite author, James Patterson. She also enjoys white water rafting, going to the movies and working.
That’s right, working. She works at five separate places while keeping eight hours of sleep her priority. Hanson works at 310 Central American Grill, In and Out, Grant Swimming Pool, Central Perk, and now the Grant Tribune. Although many claim she’s crazy, she calls it fun and ideal for herself.
Hanson will be using the skills that she learns at the Tribune in her future plans.
