Several Perkins County Health Services employees wore red on National Wear Red Day on Friday, Feb 3 to raise awareness for heart disease and stroke. According to the American Heart Association, heart disease and stroke cause one in three deaths among women each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds. Perkins County senior Claire Maaliao was the top scorer for the Lady Plainsmen this season with a total of 110 points. She shot 51 percent at the free throw line, making 27 of 53. Maaliao also led the team in 3-point field goals, as well as steals.
