Marvin Dean Stephenson - April 22, 2010

Marvin Dean Stephenson, 72, former Grant, Neb., resident, died April 22, 2010 at the Colorado State Veterans Center at Homelake, Colo.
Marvin was born Feb. 13, 1938 in Holyoke, Colo. to William Ray and Faythe E. Sasse Stephenson. He married his wife of 49 years, Kathleen M. Loeffelholz on Sept. 24, 1960 in Buffalo County, Neb.
Marvin served in the United States Navy on the submarine USS Pomodon. After being honorably discharged he attended college and earned his bachelor degree and masters degree in math and science. He taught high school and college for 12 years. In 1976 he returned to the farm in Grant where he worked for a time and later took up a position as carpenter with the Hansen Lumber Yard.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Stephenson of Bayfield, Colo.; his children: Monte Stephenson of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Gina Kramer of Clarksville, Tenn.; his grandson Michael and wife Samantha Lewis, and his aunt Margaret Parrish of Grant.
His parents preceded him in death.
Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Rogers Family Mortuary of Monte Vista, Colo. was in charge of the arrangements.
