Edna Pick - July 31, 2010

Edna Pick was born on Jan. 27, 1925 near Crawford, Texas. She was one of 10 children born to George and Ida Sampert Massier. She grew up on a farm and attended country school through the eighth grade.
Edna was married to S.E. Pick on April 16, 1949. They moved to Waco, Texas where they lived the majority of their married life. One son, Wayne, was born to this union. S.E. died in 1996 and Edna moved to El Dorado, Ark. to be closer to her family.
After her son became the pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church north of Grant, Edna moved to the Park Ridge Assisted Living in Grant in 2002. She moved to Golden Ours Convalescent Home in June of this year where she died on Saturday morning, July 31, reaching the age of 85.
In addition to her parents and husband, Edna was preceded in death by five sisters.
She is survived by her son, Rev. Wayne and his wife Deb Pick; one grandson, John Pick and one granddaughter, Sarah Pick, all of Grant; three sisters- Allyne Massier of Crawford, Texas, Rose Massier of Garland, Texas; Lena Carroll of Dallas, and one brother-Henry Massier of Gatesville, Texas; other relatives and friends.
Cremation was chosen.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. at the Golden Ours Chapel with Pastor Robert Pierce officiating.
Burial of cremains will occur at a later date in Riesel, Texas.
A memorial has been established.
