Jack served in the Army from 1960-1962. He was a master plumber and spent many years on construction projects in many different states as a superintendent. Jack and Janice were married on Dec. 6, 1980 in Grant, Neb. They owned a motel in Grant. They moved to Nevada and worked in the casinos in Laughlin. Later they owned a sports bar and restaurant in Arizona.
He is survived by his wife Janice (Lair) of Mesa, Ariz.; son Troy of Fort Wayne, Ind., stepson Marty Carpenter and family of Payson, Ariz.; his brother Roy of Fort Wayne; father-in-law Leon Lair of Grant; sister-in-law Sandy Velte and family of Omaha; brother-in-law Galen Lair and family of Ogallala, Neb.; three grandchildren, Nicole, Carli and Coby of Payson.
Jack was preceded in deathby his parents, mother-in-law Evelyn Lair; stepson Troy Carpenter and brother-in-law Don Lair.
A memorial service was held at their place of residence at Courtyard Tower on Aug. 19, 2010.
Burial of Jack’s remains will take place in Payson, Ariz.
