Jeanne L. Hausman - January 18, 2011
Jeanne L. (Sonnichsen) Hausman was born Sept. 18, 1935 in Sioux Falls, S.D. to Marvin W. and Hattie (Frohlich) Sonnichsen. She married Royce D. Hausman June 3, 1955. Four sons were born to this marriage.
In 1961 they moved to Denver, and then in 1973 they moved to Montrose, Colo. where Royce and Jeanne owned and operated Hausman Pharmacy.
Jeanne was active in the Sweet Adelines in Englewood, Colo. and was involved with the Del-Rose chapter in Montrose for several years.
She was active in Zion Lutheran Church and First Presbyterian Church in Montrose taking part in many activities including singing in the choir.
Jeanne and Royce both enjoyed hot air ballooning, gardening and working with stained glass. Jeanne also enjoyed fishing and camping with her family.
She passed away Jan. 18, 2011 at Golden Ours Convalescent Home in Grant, Neb. where she had been a resident approximately five years. She moved to Golden Ours when her son, Kevin, was appointed to pastor the Venango Community Church She was previously a resident of Valley Manor Nursing Home in Montrose.
She was preceded in death by her husband Royce and her parents.
She is survived by four sons Kevin and wife Leslie of Roggen, Colo.; Mark and wife Tammy of Auburn, Wash., Mike of Centennial, Colo. and Tim and wife Nancy of Katy, Texas; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one sister Judy and husband Ken Schmuck and one brother Dave and wife Pam Sonnichsen both of Sioux Falls and many more family and friends.
Her body was cremated. Memorial services will be held in Colorado at a later date.
