Teddy Schroder - February 06, 2011

Teddy Schroder was born on Feb. 15, 1957 at Grant, Neb. He was the youngest of four children born to Lowell and Janet Walker Schroder.
He was baptized at the Grant Zion Lutheran Church on March 17, 1957 and was confirmed at Zion on March 26, 1972. Teddy grew up on the farm and attended school in Grant, graduating from Perkins County High School in 1976.
Teddy worked on the farm for a brief period after graduation before moving to different institutions in Nebraska where he lived the rest of his life. He broke his leg in Kearney in 2006 and was moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Callaway in December of the same year. He died at the Good Samaritan Center Sunday afternoon, Feb. 6, 2011. He had reached the age of 53.
While growing up, Teddy enjoyed 4-H and was part of the FFA in high school. He liked to read and had a special interest in genealogy, astronomy, and classical music.
Teddy was preceded in death by his father in 2000.
He is survived by his mother, Janet of rural Grant; two sisters, Diann Kollman of San Antonio, Texas and Idonna and husband Jim Elder of Imperial, Neb.; one brother Tom of rural Grant; three nieces, Angella Hallam, Candice Schilke, and Christine Elder; three nephews, Joshua Schroder, Roy and Kurt Elder; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are Friday, Feb. 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the Grant Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Ron Krause officiating.
Burial is in the Grant Fairview Cemetery.
