Dorothy Robertson - February 11, 2011
Dorothy Marie Robertson, 93, of North Platte, Neb. passed away Feb. 11, 2011 at Centennial Park Retirement Village.
Dorothy was born Aug. 12, 1917, the oldest of five children, to Edward and Kathryn (Schwabe) Pelster at Petersburg, Neb. At an early age, she moved to Elsie, Neb. with her parents and attended country school in rural Perkins County.
On Sept. 7, 1937, she was united in marriage to Woodrow Robertson at Elsie. They lived and farmed on the family farm near Elsie until retirement in 1980, when they moved to North Platte. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before Woodrow’s death in 1997.
She was a member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Elsie and the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in North Platte. Dorothy was a volunteer for the Senior Volunteer Program of North Platte and Meals on Wheels for many years. Her grandchildren were her joy. She was a farm wife, homemaker, seamstress, and quilter and enjoyed her garden.
Survivors include her son, Bill and wife Marian Robertson of Elsie; a daughter, Donna and husband Phil Harr of McCook, Neb.; grandchildren, Brent and wife Amy Robertson, Darin and wife Katie Robertson, Greg Robertson, all of Elsie, Katie and husband Amos Joseph and Brad and wife Julie Robertson all of Lincoln, James Harr of Omaha, Renae Robertson of Santa Maria, Calif., and Kristen and husband Jonathan Lancton of Houston, Texas; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Leonard and wife Chris Pelster of North Platte.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son, Francis; a granddaughter, Maria Harr; a sister, Marie Sexton and brothers, Robert and Claytus Pelster.
Mass of Christian Burial was Feb. 15, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in North Platte.
Burial was in the Morningview Cemetery near Wallace, Neb.
