Twylah Schmidt - February 27, 2011

Twylah Schmidt was born on Jan. 19, 1937 near Burns, Kan. She was the youngest of seven children born to Peter and Esther (Unruh) Koehn. She grew up in the Burns area and attended school in McPherson, Kan.
Twylah was married to Clinton Schmidt in Burns on Oct. 16, 1960. Three sons were born to this union.
They lived in Copeland Kansas until 1974 when they moved to their farmhome west of Grant, Neb. where she lived the rest of her life.
Twylah had been in failing health the past few months and died at the Perkins County Community Hospital in Grant early Sunday morning, Feb. 27, 2011. She had reached the age of 74.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Twylah is survived by her husband, Clinton; three sons, Marlin and wife Bonnie of Grant, David and wife Twilah of Ronan, Mont., and Jerry and wife Minnie of Madrid, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; one sister Marlene and husband Paul Koehn of Montezuma, Kan.; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at the Golden Plains Mennonite Church with Shawn Becker and Rod Frank officiating.
Burial was in the Madrid Cemetery.
Bullock-Long Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
