Richard Keller, Sr. - March 12, 2011

Richard Keller Sr. was born on June 26, 1944 at Grant, Neb. He was the youngest of seven children born to Glenn and Dorothea Hutsell Keller. Richard grew up southwest of Grant on the farm and attended country school, rural district #9. He attended high school in Grant graduating from Perkins County High School in 1962, along with his twin brother, David.
Richard joined the United States Navy in 1962 and served in Scotland until 1965. Richard was married to Cecelia Devine in 1964 and one son, Richard Jr. was born to this union. Richard later moved to southern California and resided in Riverside and San Diego. He returned to Nebraska in 1981 and maintained his residence west of Grant until his death.
He was transferred to the Perkins County Community Hospital in Grant in February where he died on March 2, 2011. He had reached the age of 66.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn Ivan and his twin, David; one sister, Mary Ann.
He is survived by his son, Richard Jr. and his wife Brenda Gale Davis of Mt. Dora, Fla.; one grandson, Brandon Davis Keller of Mt. Dora; two sisters, Lydian Reitz of Grant and Dorothy Theim of North Platte, Neb.; one brother, Robert Keller of Geneva, Fla.; other relatives and friends.
Committal of cremains will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Grant Fairview Cemetery with John Long officiating.
