Dulcie Hermoine (Dull) Hutsell - May 25, 2011
Dulcie Hermoine (Dull) Hutsell, 96, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2011, in Fremont, Neb. She was born Feb. 17, 1915 in Fairfax, Osage County, Okla., to John Henry Dull and Lova May (Cowell) Dull.
In 1925 she and her family moved south of Clermont, Fla., where her father invested in orange groves. She graduated from Clermont-Minneola High School and attended Tampa
Dulcie worked at the Clermont Bank until she met her future husband, Clifford Hutsell, from Aurora, Neb., who was in the United States Army Signal Corp and stationed close to Clermont.
She married Clifford on Sept. 15, 1945, in Oberlin, Kan., and they moved to North Platte, Neb., where he worked for the railroad. In 1946 they moved to a farm west of Grant, Neb. Clifford preceded her in death on June 16, 1990. Her son, Sanford Dee Hutsell, also preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 2001.
Dulcie was the last of her family. Carmen Metts, Vera Johnston, Basil Dull, Darrell Dull, Hilda Teachout, and Freda Frye, her sisters and brothers, all left before her.
Dulcie loved her family, gardening, sewing, cooking, reading, and socializing with her numerous friends. She had many marvelous, funny, and inspiring stories to tell from her long life.
Left behind and missing her are daughters, Tanya Walters of Denver, Josie Roper of Flagstaff, Ariz., Jennifer Buell of Fremont, and son, Dennis and wife Pat Hutsell, Parker, Colo. Dulcie also left behind nine grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, and Buddy, her dog, all of whom will miss her sweet presence.
A memorial service to celebrate Dulcie’s life will be held in Clermont, where she will be laid to rest with her parents and other close family.
