Maxine Reynolds - July 09, 2011

Maxine Reynolds was born on Feb. 1, 1931 in Dundy County near Benkelman, Neb. She was the second of four children born to Henry and Helen Louch Bernard. Maxine grew up on the farm and attended Hiawatha country school through the eighth grade.
Maxine was married to Ralph Reynolds at Imperial on March 23, 1950. They moved to Benkelman and in 1963 they moved to Enders, Neb. In 1969 the family moved to Grant, Neb. Maxine began working for the Banner Cafe but in 1970 she began her career with Hatch’s grocery store. She served as a a check-out clerk for over 25 years before her retirement.
Ralph died in 1999 and Maxine was able to maintain her home with the help of family and friends.
Maxine was admitted to the Perkins County Community Hospital the end of June and was transferred to the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, Neb. where she died early Saturday morning, July 9, 2011. She had reached the age of 80.
Maxine was a member of the Grant Evangelical Free Church.
She is survived by one daughter Shirley and husband Robert Rhiley of Ogallala, Neb.; three sons Eldon of Munjor Kan., Jerry of North Platte, and Duane of Bethune, Colo.; six grandchildren Tracy and husband Kevin Simon, Christopher Reynolds, Nikolaus and wife Sonya Rhiley, Megan Rhiley, Sarah and MacKenzie Reynolds; five great-grandchildren; one brother Marlin and wife Pat Bernard of Osborn, Kan. and one sister LaVeta Howard of Hayes Center, Neb.; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Grant Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Russ Gaar officiating.
Burial was in the Grant Fairview Cemetery.
Bullock-Long Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
