John Thomas Post - December 10, 2011
John Thomas Post, 51, of Geuda Springs, Kan. died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011 at his residence.
John was born Sept. 20, 1960 He was adopted by Bill and Doree Post in Albuquerque, N.M. John married Cecelia Wight on July 7, 1987 and they had a daughter, Siobhan. On July 7, 1992 he married Kathy Hunt and with this marriage gained a daughter, Shawna and a son, Adrian.
John was an avid musician. He was the lead in two high school musicals and co-wrote a song with his father, Bill “God Is Everywhere.” A Nashville publishing company later published the song.
While in high school, John played in two rock bands and traveled throughout the state of Kansas with his father singing and playing the guitar.
John spent one year at the Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood, Calif. John released six songs and traveled to New York City to show his songs to publishers. John played in Los Angeles for a band that opened for headline bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers and Guns N Roses. He was also a contestant on Be A Star in April and October of 1993.
In 2009 he moved to the Arkansas City, Kan. area with his wife Kathy to help care for his father.
John is survived by his wife, Kathy; father Bill Post of Arkansas City, Kan.; daughter, Siobhan Post and stepdaughter, Shawna Koscilski both of Tulsa, Okla.; stepson, Adrian Koscilski of Owasso, Okla., stepbrothers, Larry Pritchett of Grant, Neb., Monte Pritchett of Gatesville, Texas, and Craig Pritchett of Hewitt, Texas, stepsister, Rita Pritchett of Wilmore, Ky. and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his adoptive mother, Doree Post, and his stepmother, Rev. Orvaleen Pritchett Post.
