Lewellen Borowski - June 30, 2012

Lewellen Borowski was born on Nov. 1, 1919 at Genoa, Neb. He was the oldest of eight children born to Stanley and Anna Paprocki Borowski. The family moved to Perkins County, living on a farm northwest of Grant, Neb. in 1926.
Lewellen began elementary school at District #62 but due to an accidental head injury due to a fall early in his life, his learning ability was limited. Lewellen helped his parents on the farm and he always had a keen interest and love for all the farm animals. He moved into Grant with his parents in 1954. He lived with his mother after his father died in 1963 until her death in 1998. He was able to maintain his home with the help of his brothers and their families until December of 2011 when he moved to Park Ridge Assisted Living in Grant. He was transferred to the Perkins County Community Hospital on June 28 and died early Saturday morning, June 30, 2012. He had reached the age of 92.
Although never being able to marry, he enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews grow up and having families of their own.
Lewellen was a faithful member of the Grant Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Esther Otterstein and one brother, Melvin Borowski.
Lewellen is survived by four brothers, Ed of Grant, Leonard and wife Gloria of Greeley, Colo., Dan and wife Mary of rural Ogallala, Neb. and Harry and wife Bobbie of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Theresa Benton of Cozad, Neb.; other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was on July 3, 2012 at the Grant Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church with Father Mark Pfeiffer officiating.
Burial was in the Grant Fairview Cemetery.
Bullock-Long Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
