Richard Dean Lovette - June 27, 2013
Richard Dean Lovette was born on April 18, 1954 in Lawrence, Kan. He was one of four sons of Larkin and Betty (Morris) Lovette. Rick grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa where he graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1972. After high school he attended Thermal King school where he learned refrigeration in addition to becoming a diesel mechanic.
Rick was married to Cindy Morse on July 2, 1977. Two children were born to this union. They made their home in Ft. Dodge, Iowa where he worked for the Mallinger Truck Line as a mechanic. He later worked for the Roush Company.
Rick was involved in a serious vehicle accident in 1986. He spent most of that year rehabilitating from his injuries. The family moved to Wallace, Neb. in 1987. Rick later moved to North Platte for a brief time before moving back to Wallace. Rick died at his home in Wallace, Saturday night, June 22, 2013. He had reached the age of 59.
Rick was an avid outdoorsman, an active member of the Wallace United Methodist Church and the Wallace A.A., and a beloved member of the Wallace community.
Rick was preceded in death by his father Larkin and his son, Jason who died in 2002 .
He is survived by his daughter, Kristi Lovette, of Omaha; two grandchildren, Hanna Lovette of North Platte, Neb. and Scott Lovette of Omaha; his mother, Betty, and three brothers, Larry and his wife Mary, Steve and his wife Deb and Greg and his wife Sue; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday (today) June 27, at 1:30 p.m. at the Wallace United Methodist Church with Pastor Harun Gatobu officiating.
Burial will be in the Wallace Cemetery.
The casket will be closed.
