Lindell Edward Tjaden - April 30, 2009Lindell Edward Tjaden, 59, of Scottsbluff, Neb., died peacefully in his home on April 30, 2009.
Lindell was born to Edward and Ruth Tjaden of Madrid, Neb. on Aug. 9, 1949. He grew up working hard on the family farm in Madrid, and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his return he trained and worked diligently as an auto mechanic.
He married Susan Jane Hurt and to this union two children were born, Steven and Edward.
Lindell cherished the basic values of family, honesty and liberty until his passing. He will be missed by all, but particularly by his grandchildren to whom his quiet and loving nature was a true gift.
He is dearly missed and survived by his two sons and their families, Steven and Amy Tjaden and children, Joseph, Michael and Samuel of Las Vegas, Nev.; Edward Tjaden and Crystal Tjaden and children, Jordan, Tyler, and Bailey of Gering, Neb.; his sister Lois and husband Joe Smalley of Reno, Nev.; his brother Ken Tjaden and children, Amanda and Andrea of Hastings, Neb.; his brother Don Tjaden of Madrid; his mother-in-law, Genevieve Hurt of St. Joseph, Mo.; his sister-in-law, Joan and husband Tom Kendall and children, Sarah and Rachel of St. Joseph and brother-in-law, Corky Roberts and son Alva Roberts of Chadron, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan Jane Tjaden; his parents, Edward and Ruth Tjaden; his father-in-law, Dennis Hurt and his sister-in-law, Diane Roberts.
Funeral services were held May 8, 2009 at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Paul Hebbert officiating.
Inurnment was at the Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff with military honors by the Nebraska National Army Guard, Scottsbluff.
Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
