Diana Rivas - February 14, 2001

Diana Rivas, 60, of Grand Island, Neb. died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center.
Diana was born in Grand Island and she lived with her parents, Ted and Ruth (Nelson) Roberts on a farm east of Phillips, Neb. She lived there until a young girl, and then moved with her mom and two siblings to Grand Island and later Ogallala, Neb.
After graduating from high school in 1971, she moved to Lincoln, Neb. to begin her medical secretary career.
After the death of her first husband, Terry Lesoing, She moved back to Ogallala to be near family. Diana was later married to Jeff Brodbeck and to this union a son was born, Matthew Wade Brodbeck, in 1978. Diana found her best friend and true love of her life with her husband, Henry Rivas.
Diana worked for Natural Gas Dist. Co., which later became KN energy, in Ogallala, for several years. She spent all of her married life with Henry in Grand Island, where they, with Matt, moved in 1991.
At the time of her death she had many hobbies: scrapbooking, gardening, antiquing, crafts, collections, reading and spending time with her family, especially time spent with her two grandchildren. “Hold on to the good memories, let go of the pain and hurts.”
Survivors include her husband, Henry; son, Matt and wife Jill Brodbeck of Grand Island; two grandchildren, Ellie Marie and Koby Wade Brodbeck; sister, Deb Cornelius of Grant, Neb.; brother, Randy of Beaver Crossing, Neb.; nephew, Kody; uncles, Wilbur and wife Mona Roberts, and Leonard Roberts; many cousins, friends, and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Terry Lesoing; mother, Ruth Peterson; father Ted Roberts; step-father, Wayne Peterson; brother-in-law, Joe Rivas; and her grandparents earlier in life, Tom and Eleanore Roberts, and Swan and Edith Nelson.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island. Reverend Bob Rhodes will officiate.
Burial of ashes will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island with cremation following the visitation.
A memorial fund will be established in Diana’s name.
