Helen Lambert - February 14, 2001
Helen Lambert, age 87, died on Christmas morning, Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, on her favorite holiday. Helen was born March 15, 1926 in Scottsbluff, Neb., the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Green and was one of eight children.
As a young wife and mother she moved to Grant, Neb. where she and her husband, David, ran the Lambert hatchery and feed store. In Grant she was a scout leader and active in the 4-H activities of her children.
She was a long time resident of Centerville, Ohio moving there in 1963 where she and her husband, along with several neighbors and friends, were on the founders board of the Black Oak Swim Club.
Much younger in spirit than her years Helen enjoyed her gardening, her luncheon groups, her neighbors, friends and her family. Helen was the loving mother of four children and created a warm and loving home for her family.
Helen delighted in sharing time with her children, nine grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Not one to miss a family or neighborhood event, holidays, or a grandchild’s birthday, she celebrated life’s moments.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband David Lambert in 1991.
She is survived by sons, Charles and wife Charlotte Lambert and Michael and wife Mona Lambert; daughters, Linda and husband Steve Rupp and Betty and husband Michael Sellers; a sister, Donna Brehm; brother, Donald Green; grandchildren, Erin, Chance, Dillon, Colton, Kristina, Ceara, Mira, Abigail, and Samantha; great-grandchild, Kate.
Funeral services were held Dec. 30 at Tobias Funeral Home in Dayton, Ohio. Interment was in David’s Cemetery.
Helen’s transition to the Lord came all too quickly. For despite her 87 years, she was forever young. She once shared, a few short years ago, “I don’t know how I got old so fast”, when in fact she was young until her death.
