Margaret Perlinger - January 30, 2014

Margaret Perlinger was born on June 23, 1922 at Omaha. She was the youngest of four children born to Nisse and Anna Jensen Hansen.
Margaret grew up in south Omaha and graduated from Omaha South High School in 1940. Margaret worked after high school at the Stockyards National Bank and later stayed at home with her mother to help take care of her.
Margaret was married to George Perlinger on April 19, 1949 in Omaha. Two sons were born to this union. They moved to a farm home northwest of Elsie, Neb, where she lived for over 64 years. In addition to helping George on the farm, Margaret sold the World Book encyclopedia for many years and was regularly seen on KNOP television as a supporter and sponsor of the Saturday morning “spelling bee.”
Margaret had been in failing health but with the help of her family and hospice she was able to stay at home where she died on Saturday night, Jan. 25, 2014. She had reached the age of 91.
Margaret had been a longtime member of the Elsie Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by two sisters, Christine Sloan and Mildred Hansen and one brother, Raymond Hansen.
She is survived by her husband of over 64 years, George; two sons, Ronald of Aurora, Colo. and Glenn of Littleton, Colo.; five grandchildren, Sarah and husband Justin Perlinger-Hasford, Amy, Jennifer, Brian, and Julie Perlinger; many other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday (today) Jan. 30 at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at Paxton, Neb. with Fr. Mark Pfeiffer officiating.
Burial will be in the Paxton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Resurrection of Our Lord Church or to hospice.
Bullock-Long Funeral Home of Grant, Neb. was in charge of arrangements.
