Kenneth Allen - March 20, 2014


Kenneth Allen of Centennial, Colo., was born Nov. 11, 1934 in Elsie, Neb. to Coley and Lucille Allen. He was the nephew of Cody and Francis Cutler and cousin of Ronald Cutler of Elsie. He died suddenly and unexpectedly on Feb. 25, 2014. He was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Ken graduated from Elsie High School in 1952. He attended the Kansas City Art Institute and was a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University. He was a graphic designer and owned Graphic Selling, a design studio in Denver.
Ken was a longtime Denver Bronco season ticket holder, a Colorado Rockies usher at Coors Field for 12 years, an enthusiastic University of Nebraska football fan and a former member of the Sound of the Rockies barbershop chorus. He was an avid photographer.
Ken and his wife spent the winter months at their home in Mesa, Ariz. He worked as an usher during spring training for the Colorado Rockies in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Ken is survived by his wife, Verna, of 58 years; two daughters, Tracy and husband Bart Kaminsky and children, Sarah and Emily, and Nancy and husband David Van Nest and children Johnathan and Mary; one sister, Connie Allen Musick of Greeley, Colo. and brother, William David and wife Kim Allen of Niwot, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Jo.
Ken was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. Ken requested that no memorial service be held.
