Marcia Ann Frazer - April 24, 2014

Marcia Ann Frazier was born on Feb. 17, 1947 at the Ernest and Alberta Colglazier baby hospital in Grant, Neb. She was the oldest of two children born to Erwin and Doris (Stout) Frerichs. Marcia grew up south of Grant and attended rural school.
She later attended school in Grant and graduated from Perkins County High School with the Class of 1965. She then attended Kearney State College where she graduated with a degree in education in 1969. She taught music at Morrill, Neb. and North Platte, Neb. for five years and then became involved with the special education program at Eisenhower Grade School in North Platte until her retirement in 2003.
Marcia was married to Blake Frazier in North Platte on Feb. 15, 1991. They made their home in North Platte until retiring to Keystone, Neb. in April of 2009.
Marcia had developed a malignancy nine years ago but continued to live a strong life. She was able to stay at home with the help of her family until she died early Tuesday morning, April 15, 2014. She had reached the age of 67.
Marcia enjoyed her music. She was a church organist beginning at age 12 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Grant. She continued to play the piano and organ at Our Redeemer and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in North Platte and St. John’s Lutheran rural Ogallala, Neb. until March of 2014.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, hunting with Blake, and playing with their dogs. She was a member of two Bible study groups, Keystone Library Club, and Dorcas Ladies Aid at St. John’s.
During her battle with cancer, Marcia was part of Heartstrings of Hope and the Relay for Life Cancer Support Team.
Marcia was preceded in death by her father, Erwin.
She is survived by her husband Blake of Keystone; their children, Kristie Frazier of Centennial, Colo., Brad and his wife Kristy Frazier of Torrington, Wyo. and their three children, Taylor, Kayla and Brayden, and Becky and her husband Greg Goodwater of Parker, Colo. and their three children, Quentin, Gabby and Cooper; her mother, Doris, of Grant; her brother, Mike and his wife Marcia Jane Frerichs of Grant; three nieces, three great-nieces and four great-nephews; many other family members from the Stout family including her cousin and best friend, Gail Snyder.
Funeral services were held April 18 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church southeast of Ogallala with Pastor Robert Pierce officiating.
Burial was in the Grant Fairview Cemetery.
