Agnes Evans - January 16, 2010

Agnes Evans was born on Aug. 8, 1923 southeast of Grant, Neb. She was the second of three children born to A. Albert and Selina French Bogaert.
She grew up on the farm and attended country school. She later attended school in Grant and graduated from Perkins County High School.
Agnes was married to Ed Evans on Jan. 20, 1943 in Ogallala, Neb. They moved to a farm south of Madrid, Neb. where they spent nearly their entire married life.
Ed and Agnes moved to the Golden Ours Convalescent Home in Grant the end of August 2009 and to the Nebraska Veterans Home in Grand Island, Neb. in December 2009. She was admitted to the St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island the first week of January and died at St. Francis on Saturday morning, Jan. 16, 2010. She had reached the age of 86.
Agnes enjoyed living on the farm and helping her husband in all aspects, even spending the day on the tractor with him. She had been a member of the Madrid Legion Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by her two brothers, Eldon Wayne Bogaert and Burton Bogaert.
She is survived by her husband of over 66 years, Ed; two sons, Karol and his wife Kay of Hastings, Neb. and Roy and his wife Shirley of Sutherland, Neb.; four grandchildren, Karol’s children–Chad and Kristy Evans and Roy’s children–Bret and his wife Angie and Carrie and her husband Tim Lange; three great-grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Betty Bogaert of Grant; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010 at the Madrid United Methodist Church with Pastor Linda Battello officiating.
Burial was in the Grant Cemetery. Bullock-Long Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
