Perkins County FFA Auction raises over $46,000

The 2023 Perkins County FFA Hired Hand Auction raised an impressive $46,811, according to PC FFA Advisor Seth Burge, who said he is overwhelmed by the amount of support from the community.

Burge said traditionally the auction proceeds are used for the normal budget for the year, which includes taking more than 30 members annually to the Nebraska FFA State Convention in Lincoln as well as small community and school projects.

However, with this year’s record-breaking auction, Burge said the group will be able to tackle some bigger projects that have been on their wishlist.

“We have some projects in mind, but will need to involve the membership, school administration, and community partners to come up with a solid plan for the funds before we reveal it,” he said. “It is exciting to have the means to move forward with ideas we’ve had for community service, student development, and growth of our chapter.”

This year’s FFA officers are President Gavin Smith; Vice President Ella Uehling; Secretary Eli Busick; Treasurer Maggie Fisher; Reporter  Mason McGreer; Sentinel Ethan Sihm; Historian Emma Klahn; Junior Advisor Selah Richter-Martinez.
