Audition to be held for Missoula Theater production

An audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre’s production of The Frog Prince Monday, Feb. 27, from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. at the Perkins County Elementary School gym. 

Those auditioning should arrive at 3:45 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.

Among the roles to be cast are three sisters, who also happen to be princesses, two students to play the lonely frog, Ollie the aspen tree, bumbling knights, kindly swamp things, the well-read alligator, fancy glamingos, helpful ducks, a busy fly, and the mischievous venus fly traps.  

All students, grades K – 12th, are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary.  Assistant directors will also be cast to assist with the technical aspects of the production. 

The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. The MCT tour actor/directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 3:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. each day.

The Frog Prince will be presented on Saturday, March 4 for two performances, 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Perkins County Elementary gym. 

The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Grant is made possible by the Perkins County Youth Arts Program with support from Perkins County Community Foundation Fund, the Grant Lions Club and other community members that are interested in promoting the arts to youth.
