With strong performances in distance races, the Wallace track teams got their outdoor season off to a good start. The Wildcats claimed 10 first place finishes at the Hi-Line Quad Thursday.

Head Coach Danielle Snider said several athletes had outstanding times for how far they are in the season.

“Trey Roberston ran a salty two mile and mile,” Snider said.

T. Robertson continued his win streak with first place finishes in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs.

Kyler Flaming placed second in shot put and Conner Kennicutt was second in the triple jump.

The Wallace girls went 1-2-3 in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. In the 1600, Kaley Sauser placed first, followed by Ashley Robertson and Elliana Robertson. Dajana Garrison won the 3200 and knocked 23 seconds off her PR. A. Robertson and E. Robertson on her heels.

Kendyl Flaming won first place in both hurdle races and the high jump. Snider said Flaming is off to a great start in both sets of hurdles.

Also finishing in first place was Karlie Finley in the shot put. Finley was second behind Kendyl Flaming in the 100 meter hurdles and Mariana Aceves-Lopez was second in the 300 meter hurdles. Ryleigh Hanson placed second in the 800 meter run.

Brooke Bryant won the triple jump and was second in the 400 meter run.

The Wildcats also won two out of the three relays and finished second in the other.

Aceves-Lopez, Garrison, Hanson and Flaming combined to win the 1600 meter relay.

The winning 3200 meter relay team members were Aceves-Lopez, Hanson, Reagan Pelster and Sauser. Finley, Mallory McConnell, Angelica Vazquez and Brooke Bryant made up the second place 400 meter relay.

Snider said the 1600 and 3200 meter relays both had great times.
