Grant City Superintendent Dana Harris has submitted her resignation effective Sept. 30. 

Patients just across the state line in Colorado can not be transported by Perkins County Ambulance. 

This was a topic of discussion at a recent PC commissioner’s meeting. 

Kim Bishop was appointed as the new Grant City Council member at the Sept. 11 meeting, filling the vacancy left by Robert Bounds’ resignation in July. 

The 2018-19 Grant city budget of nearly $9.3 million was rejected on a 1-2 vote and later passed on a 3-1 vote at the city meeting Sept. 11.

A two-vehicle accident involving a road construction vehicle occurred at 7:35 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12 four miles north of Grant.

Grant Volunteer Fire Department responded to a baler fire a few miles north of Grant in a field west of Highway 61 on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 13.

The Perkins County Lady Plainsmen had another busy week of volleyball with a triangular Thursday night and an invitational on Saturday.

After a two week break, the PC girls golf team was back in action and headed to Gothenburg on Sept. 13.

Charlie Johnson is one of four backup quarterbacks competing for playing time on the Peru State Bobcat football team this season. 

Bring on Michigan! Not sure the Huskers are ready for Michigan at Ann Arbor, but that is the next game on the schedule, and no one said it was going to be easy this year.

In the game against Brady, Wallace Freshman Tertulian Nyamakope  comes down with the pass in the arms of Brady’s Logan Porter. Later in the game, Nyamakope severely broke his ankle. He will be out for the rest of the football season and will probably be on the sidelines for the basketball season as well. He had surgery on the ankle Saturday.

Perkins County Schools will be presenting Adventures of a Comic Book Artist this weekend, Sept. 22 and 23.

On Wednesday, Sept. 12, the FFA travelled to Bridgeport to compete in range judging. The contest consists of a junior division and a senior division.
