Chamber-sponsored summer activities on horizon

The Perkins County Chamber of Commerce meeting was held Thursday, April 20 at noon at the Perkins County Senior Center with 16 members present.

First Dollar

A First Dollar was presented to Thelander Interiors owners Tyler and Kadie Thelander.  

Tyler started his business from home in November 2021 and opened the office downtown in Grant in November of 2022. The Thelanders invite customers to browse their showroom featuring flooring, cabinets, tiles, backsplash, and countertops. Contact Tyler at 308-352-8478 to discuss home interior needs.

Business Spotlight

Grant NAPA was in the Business Spotlight at the meeting. Robin Francis gave a summmary of NAPA’s history. The family-owned business has locations in Imperial, Ogallala, and Grant. They have a machine shop and parts for any vehicle, truck or mower. Business hours are Monday-Friday 7:30-5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m.-noon and they can be reached at 308-352-4146.

Community Focus

Brenda McClenahan is getting the Perkins County Alumni Banquet in full swing.  It will be held Saturday, June 3 and all alumni are welcome. Tickets can be purchased at Pinnacle Bank, Quality Diesel, Hastings Memorial Library, Grant Tribune, and Noyes Irrigation starting May 1. 

The Madrid-Elsie-Wheatland Alumni banquet will be held Saturday, May 27 in Swedes in Paxton.  To RSVP contact Michelle at 308-882-8469. 

The Easter Egg Hunt was held Saturday, April 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the Grant City Park with about 200 kids participating.  There were 1500 eggs and other items scattered around the park for four age groups.  Donations are still welcomed.

The lottery business winner for April was Great Plains Communications. They will have a complimentary ad in the Tribune-Sentinel’s business directory.
