Perkins County Schools hosted Homecoming week last week that included dress up days, a parade, a pep rally, and coronation. The Perkins County Plainsmen had more than crowning their King and Queen, as the football team defeated Hitchcock County 76-64, giving them their first win of the season. The Homecoming Royalty court included: Queen Ella Homan, King Ethan Swesey, Madison Potts, Tanner Paintin, Shyne Hickey, Logan Barry, Emily Wilson, and Rodolfo Aragon.
Chase County High School students earned first place during the Chalk the Walk competition Sept. 9 in downtown Grant with their interpretation of the theme “Legendary.” The piece, depicting three immigrants looking toward America and a better life, was inspired by the student artists’ personal experiences and family histories of immigration.
