Hatch’s honored as August Spotlight
Hatch’s Super Foods was featured as the August Business Spotlight with the Perkins County Chamber.
Hatch’s was founded at 218 Central Ave, in 1946 by Charlie and Florence Hatch.
Then in 1960, Earl and Darlene Hatch purchased it and moved the store to the corner of 1st and Central Ave.
Later Kevin and Barbara Hatch, and Dan Kendra and Ourada purchased the store from Earl and Darlene and built the new store that stands today.
According to Barb Hatch, the focus of the store continues to be to sell groceries and that hasn’t changed.
“Although now we provide groceries and more to our community,” said Hatch.
At one time there were up to four different grocery stores in Perkins County, but Hatch’s is the only one left.
“Although many things have changed over the last 74 years, we have done our best to adapt to all of the changes, but still keep the traditional hospitality that our loyal customers have come to expect from us,” Hatch said.
When asked about their target customers, Barb replied “everyone, our friends and neighbors!”
Hatch’s averages around 10-12 full-time employees, and about eight part-time employees.
As for the future of the store, Barb said, “We will continue to serve our customers with quality products, fair prices and great service for our community.”
“Our continuing goal is to partner with the community and our loyal employees, our second family. Without both we wouldn’t be in business. We are thankful to everyone! Our store hours will continue to be 7:30-6:00 Monday through Saturday and closed on Sunday. God bless you all,” Hatch said.
Hatch’s Super Food’s is located at 113 Central Ave., in Grant and can be reached at 308-352-4520.
