Stumpf Field Day and Wheat Variety Tour in Grant set for June 16
A field day at the Henry J. Stumpf International Wheat Research Center will be held in conjunction with the 2026 University of Nebraska–Lincoln Wheat Variety Tour on June 16 at 9 a.m. MT. The field day and tour are free and open to the public, and no registration is required.
Due to growing season challenges that have significantly affected the crop, the tour portion of the field day will be offered in a shortened format. Participants will have the opportunity to view wheat varieties, pea trials, and management practices for diseases and insect pests.
Despite the season’s challenges, the event will highlight ongoing research and management strategies relevant to Nebraska crop production.
Researchers and Nebraska Extension educators will provide updates on current research related to cover crops, wheat stem sawfly, short corn, irrigation and other topics.
The Henry J. Stumpf International Wheat Research Center is located east of Grant. From U.S. Highway 61, travel east on Road 761 for 1 mile, then turn south onto Road 329.
The research center is located a half-mile south on the east side of the road. Transportation to field sites will be provided.
