Aurora Cooperative donates to Madrid VFD

Coy Aerni, a Madrid firefighter and also representing Aurora Cooperative, presents a $1,500 check to Madrid Volunteer Fire Department Chief Mike Lee. Wildland gear created by a southwest Nebraska task force is being purchased with the funds. Attending the check presentation include MVFD members (front row, l-r): Kacey Wood, Stacy Lee, Aerni and Lee. Back row: Pat Aerni, Travis Unruh, Josh Harms, Matthew Aerni and Weylin Unruh. Other members of the department include Don Lee, Scott Fosbinder, Trent Harger and Travis Ogg. “It is important to support our local departments and to make sure they have all the equipment they need to do their job safely. These volunteers are unpaid and spend much time away from their families, they deserve whatever we can give them,” said Andrew Cantrell of Aurora Cooperative.
