Dr. Swan is October Business Spotlight, new greenback drawing locations announced

Dr. Marvin Swan owner of Marvin Swan Dental in Grant has been here since 1979. He has been serving Perkins County and many surrounding areas with his great practice. He started in the Doctor office with Dr Potts and Dr Bottom and then moved his office to main street in 2002. He has great employees that help with his patients. He loves and appreciates the advantages of a small and great community. He is looking to retire the first of the year in 2025. Thank you, Dr Swan, for all your years of serving as our dentist in the community, county and surrounding areas. You will be greatly missed.

BINGO

September 23 we held a fun bingo night at the Perkins County Senior Center with donating food pantry items. Participants played bingo from 6-8 p.m. and enjoyed popcorn and candy while they played and visited with friends. Winners received greenbacks to use back in the community at local businesses. 

Upcoming events

• Trick or Treat Street will be Thursday Oct 31 4-5 p.m. on main street

• Christmas greenback registration will start November 1st

• Christmas Open house will be held on Thursday November 21st with Santa and reindeer starting at 5 p.m.. Lots of shopping and food to enjoy during the evening will be from 5-8 p.m.

• Chamber drawings will be a little bit different this year, will be giving more details on this soon.

• Christmas cruise night will be December 7th. Businesses can decorate vehicles with lights, and decorations. We will cruise up and down main street come enjoy the evening. 

• Election of board members will be in December. If you have any questions about being a board member and would like to join give any board member a call. 

• Viaero has a internet promo going on at this time.

• Country Load Trailers will be serving Pizza Oct 31 during trick or treat street.

• Southwest Nebraska Community Betterment will be putting up 3 new homes soon. Grant, Wauneta, and Hayes Center will each get a home.

• Jen’s Crafty Craft has hired another part time employee.

• Great Plains Communication is busy putting in Fiber around the community.

• Butter and Bliss Bakery is working on moving into the Subway store on main street.
