Speech team places first at home tournament

Perkins County Speech Invitational was held Saturday, Jan. 28 with 16 western teams involved. Perkins County mustered up several medals to edge Ogallala by .5 point to be the overall champion; Chase County was third; Hershey, Sutherland and Wallace followed with fourth, fifth and sixth.

Coaches Penny Hite and Whitney Soper are very proud of Perkins County’s performances and improvements made week by week.

Extemporaneous: Bishop: third *novice champ; Cooper Kroeker/Ryder Potts, fourth (unbreakable tie).
