Schedule set for basketball showcase event
Plans are coming together for the Midwest Elite College Showcase Tournaments at Perkins County Schools May 29-30.
The event for both boys and girls is being put on by Lifeline Elite Sports of Omaha, with the Perkins County Schools as the host.
PCS Athletic Director Jeremy Struckman said Monday interest in the event continues to grow.
He said the public is invited to attend any part of the event. Admission will be $7 for adults, $5 for students, ages 6 and under free. Concessions will be available both days as well.
Struckman said all proceeds from the gate and concessions will fund the school’s basketball programs.
He also noted one of the girls all-star teams will be coached by Dick Thurin. Larry Pritchett will be coaching a boys all-star team.
Selections for the all-star teams will be made following Saturday’s drills and pool tournament play.
The all-star games are set to begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 30 for the girls and 4 p.m. for the boys.

Saturday, May 29
9 a.m.—Athlete and Coaches Check-in,Warm-up
9:15 a.m.—Lifeline Elite Introduction—Welcome
9:30 a.m.—Drills-Female Athletes
10 a.m.—Drills-Male Athletes
10:30 a.m.—Showcase Pool-Play Begins (Possibly Both Gyms depending on final team count)
2 p.m.—Tourney Play Begins (Possibly Both Gyms depending on final team count)
5 p.m.—All-Star Starting Five Selection
Sunday, May 30
9 a.m.—Athlete and Coaches Check-in, Warm-up
9:15 a.m.—Tournament Final Bracket (Both Gyms, Girls—Boys)
12 p.m.—Championship Games--Girls followed by Boys
2:15 p.m.—3-point Contest--Girls followed by Boys
3 p.m.—Girls All-Star Game (one team will be coached by Dick Thurin)
4 p.m.—Boys All-Star Game (one team will be coached by Larry Pritchett)
5 p.m.—Awards
