Tjaden and Nodlinski place at state archery

State archery was held September 18 and 19 in Grand Island at the Heartland Shooting Park. Perkins County 4-H Archers participated in the event.  Landon Nodlinski competed both days, Porter Tjaden competed on Sunday only. Both boys used basic bows, which is what the 4-H archers typically use for practice. 

Saturday was the 3-D Competition, Nodlinski competed and received first place with a score of 171. There were 30 3-D targets setup and it took about 3 hours to get through the course. There were a range of targets including a skunk, elk, dinosaur, and deer. 

Sunday was the Outdoor 600 Target Tournament,  Nodlinski received 2nd place with a score of 407 out of a possible 600, and Tjaden received 3rd place with a score of 404 out of a possible 600. The competition took about 3.5 hours with awards to follow.
