14th Annual Mikey Ride this Saturday

The 14th annual Mikey Ride will take place this Saturday, July 20.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. CT at Mikey Maupin’s house in Wallace and bikes leave at 10 a.m. 

There is no fee for registration and poker hands will be $5 each. 

Dinner and refreshments will be served after the ride at Maupin’s house with a free-will donation and auction following. 

All are welcome to attend the dinner. 

The route will travel from Wallace south to Hayes Center and Trenton, then west to Haigler and Wray, Colorado, north to Holyoke, Colo., and east through Venango and Grant before returning to Wallace.

Proceeds from this year’s ride will benefit Bo Young of North Platte. 

In late March, Young, 34, went in for gastric bypass surgery. In the few weeks after surgery, he developed issues with his gallbladder which lead him back into surgery. 

After the second surgery, he developed a severe infection and blood clots which has affected his small intestine and bowels.

He is currently receiving treatment at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
